The Contlo integration identifies each Alia popup signup in Contlo by email address and phone number. It also saves their discount code and survey answers as custom properties, which you can use in Contlo segments and flows.

Before you begin
You need a Contlo account with access to Marketing Settings.
š” Note: Alia identifies contacts in Contlo, but doesn't add them to a list or set their marketing subscription. Use Contlo's own settings, segments, or flows to decide what happens to new contacts.
Connect Contlo to Alia
In Contlo:
Go to your settings and select Marketing Settings.
Select API Keys.
Copy your API key.
In Alia:
Go to Integrations and find Contlo.
Select Connect. Connect Contlo opens.
Paste your key into API Key.
Select Save.
To replace the key later, select Edit on the Contlo card. To turn off the integration, select Disable.
Contlo has no per-popup settings.
What Alia sends to Contlo
When a visitor signs up, Alia identifies them in Contlo with their email address, phone number, and first name, whichever they gave. Contlo creates the contact or updates the one it already has.
Alia also sends these custom properties:

Properties your form saves, such as ones you add with Set user property under When form is submitted, are sent under their own names too. When a property changes later, for example when the visitor answers another question, Alia updates the contact. Contlo doesn't receive the popup or campaign name.
When signups reach Contlo
By default, a form sends the contact as soon as the visitor submits it. If a form's Immediately subscribe users to CRMs setting is off, Alia waits until the visitor submits another form, claims a reward, or stops interacting with the popup for a few minutes. Claiming a reward always sends the contact.
š” Tip: Put shopify_code in your Contlo welcome message so subscribers see the code they claimed. To send the welcome only to people who claimed a discount, filter on shopify_code being set.
Frequently asked questions
My signups are in Contlo but aren't subscribed to marketing. Why?
Alia identifies contacts but doesn't set their subscription status. Check how your Contlo account handles new contacts, and any consent settings there.
How do I tell which popup a contact came from?
Contlo doesn't receive the popup or campaign name. In the popup editor, add Set user property under the form's When form is submitted settings to save a property with the popup's name. Alia sends it with the other properties.
My survey property has a different name than I expected. Why?
The property name is the question exactly as written in the popup. If you edit the question, newer answers go to a property with the new wording. Keep survey questions short and stable.
