The popup editor has Export and Import buttons at the top, next to undo and redo. Use them to copy a popup's design and steps from one popup to another, including a popup in a different store.
Export and Import work through your clipboard. There is no file to download or upload.
Before you start
Import replaces everything in the popup you are editing and resets its triggers to the default. Import into a new draft or a duplicate, not into a popup you want to keep as it is. See Adding new popups for how to create a draft.
How to copy a popup
Open the popup you want to copy in the editor.
Click Export. A "Copied to clipboard" message confirms the copy.
Open the popup you want to paste into. For another store, open that store's Alia account.
Click Import. Do not copy anything else between steps 2 and 4, because Import reads whatever is on your clipboard at that moment.
Check the popup on both mobile and desktop, then review its triggers and targeting before publishing.
What you can import
Import accepts only popup data that came from the Export button in Alia. It cannot read a popup built in another tool, a design file, or text copied from a document or email.
Troubleshooting
The error says "is not valid JSON"
The clipboard holds something other than an exported popup. The error often quotes the first few words of whatever you copied last. Go back to the popup you want to copy, click Export again, then click Import without copying anything in between.
Nothing happens when I click Import
Your browser may be blocking clipboard access. Allow clipboard access for Alia if your browser asks, then try again. If the problem continues, try a different browser.
The import works but I see a "component not found" error
This happens when the popup uses components that exist only in the original store. See the Prism section of Setting Up Prism AI for how to recreate them.
The Import button is missing
Alia hides Import on a popup that is a live Smart Test variant because those popups cannot be edited. Edit the control popup or end the Smart Test, then try again. You can also import into a different popup.
